The other one is at the 'Clave...So yea, rate movies.
White Noise: **/*****
This movie was so boring...The vast majority of the movie consisted of him sitting infront of his monitor looking at white fuzz...Thrilling...The ending was just so unbelievably stupid it was sad...Made 0 sense at all...Explained nothing...So yea...

Dang, and I thought that one looked good. Maybe I'll let Billy see it first, and he can tell me what he thinks of it.
Anyway... I went and saw A Series of Unfortunate Events, and I liked it. I hadn't read the books before, but it made perfect sense to me, and now I'm reading the books. I'm on book 6, and the movie followed the books pretty well in my opinion.

Aiden, are the books any good? And how similar are they to Harry Potter? BTW, I didn't think White Noise was all that bad, although the ending was kind of a letdown.

A Series of Unfortunate Events? Its nothing like Harry Potter. Its just these 3 kids that end up orphans, and they get put with all these different guardians, but they never work out. Its kinda interesting, but very morbid. None of them have happy endings... at least none that I have read so far, and I'm on book 8. There's like, 11 or 12, so yeah, I'm not sure how the whole thing ends yet. I'm hoping the last book has a happy ending! lol

Oh, okay. Well, anyway, here's the movies I've seen lately: Darkness 2.5 stars Pretty good for such a low-budget film... most of the scares come from things moving across the screen suddenly, though, which is kind of cheap sometimes and gets repetitive in this film. Still, the story and performances save it from being bad. Elektra 3.5 stars Better than Daredevil IMHO. I would've given it 4 stars if the main bad guy wasn't such a chickenshit... it would've been a better film if he had stopped dodging and fought like a man. Meet The Fockers *** As good as the first one, which I wasn't expecting. Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand are great in these roles. I'm actually hoping for a third installment. The Incredibles **** Fucking hilarious. It's definitely not just for kids, a point driven home every time they show Elastigirl from behind.

Million Dollar Baby *** I liked it, but it was too hard to get around the fact that it was about as subtle as an elephant standing on a teacup. The performances were excellent, but the script lacked.

Meh, I liked the fact that it wasn't subtle. Of course, I think subtlety is one of the lowest forms of dishonesty, so I guess my view is kind of skewed on that.

Meh. I enjoy subtle performances as long as they are done well (Jim Carrey in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, anyone?). The key is being subtle without being Keanu Reeves.

Actually, Nobelity is pretty much the greatest movie ever. I doubt it's in wide release, so you'll have to look for it. It's quite worth it, though. The world would be a better place if everyone in America had to watch that movie.

Underworld Evolution Wow, where to begin... This movie is great. I loved Underworld, and my only complaint was the lack of action. This movie corrects the issue and then some. Tons of action and a great storyline compelling it (so its not just random fighting for no reason) This movie DID do something that no other movie EVER has, and thats a good sex scene. I despise any form of sex or, for the most part, nudity in movies and games. Don't get me wrong, i like boobs as much as the next guy ( ) but sex always feels out of place in movies. It always seems forced and only done to have that "sexual content" line under the R rating. This movie has done the first scene that didn't seem forced or out of place. It could be that very little was actually revealed, or maybe that the relationship of the characters was an actual genuine relationship, which is rare in movies which include such scenes and something i support whole heartedly. Anyways, moving on from that, the CGI effects are also non-cheesey. It all looks great. You can still tell where the CGI is used...a little, but in CGI standards it looks amazing. Sometimes it is even hard to tell if something is real or CGI, which is great. Overall the movie lived up to my expectations, which is great since i was expecting alot. I would recommend this to just about anyone. Whether you like science-fiction, action, horror, or maybe even a bit of drama, its worth looking into. Of course, if your reading this you've probably seen the first one, in which case, go buy this movie and 2 others for $26 at Movie Gallery.

I agree with Ape on everything pertaining to Underworld 2. However, I'm of the opinion movies should have more nudity in them. Also, just so I'm the first to do it: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest **** Even better than the first one. They could have made it slightly less obvious there's going to be a third installment, but still, I like cliffhanger endings if done well, so I can't take any points away from the movie for it. Definitely go see this.

Dead Man's Chest is the Empire Strikes Back of the Pirates trilogy. I have no doubt it's the best movie, just as ESB was. I don't usually recommend nominating movies (i.e. screenplay or picture) that are made to be blockbusters, but I honestly think that Dead Man's Chest is a nominable movie (depending on what else is released, of course). It was well-acted and directed, the action was great, there was a love triangle and an excellent villain, and, most importantly, it didn't seem contrived. You usually don't get that with "serious" movies nowadays.
