So what does everyone think of these movies? I personally love them. The first one was one of my favorite movies of all time, despite the somewhat humorous acting at the end. Like the 2nd one too. I got the 3rd one the day it was released. At first i didn't like it...until everything started clicking at the end. ITS AWESOME!! I was afraid they rushed the 3rd one, but it turned out great. Love these movies, much better than alot of the shit being released these days.

I haven't watched any of them. They looked to me like the type of horror film that, by going out of their way to be as gross as possible, sacrifice anything genuinely scary in their story. I much prefer films like The Grudge that will actually make me sleep with the lights on without showing me any blood.

You're probably right, these movies are more Thriller than they are Horror, however i HATE thrillers, and i love these movies. I gotta say though, in the original movie they never really tried to be pointlessly gross. There were alot of gross things, but they didn't do it just so they could throw it in a movie trailer and they didn't do it just to say its the "grossest movie ever!" When watching it it really doesn't feel like they went ouf of their way just to add the 'gross' stuff.

Oh, okay. I might give it a try, then... you seem to know what makes a good horror movie, I've learned to trust your judgement.

Its definitely worth a look. I like it mostly because it doesn't feel like you typical bullshit 'horror' movie released in the past few years. Like...The Fog. They don't rely on terrible special effects or 'hot celebrity actresses' who...can't act. If you end up liking the first one then you'll love the other ones too. Surprisingly all the money and publicity hasn't affected their ability to make amazing movies.

Thanks. *exalts PF back* @ape: That's a pretty major turnaround from saying how awesome the Saw movies were before. Was 4 really that bad?

Yea. 4 is just aweful. They've been declining in quality with every new release, but this one is too far gone. I mean, the first 3 all had their suprises that I didn't see coming. But Saw 4 was completely predictable. The only redeeming aspect is all the backstory on the Jigsaw character.
Really, the first one is the only one I'd encourage people to see. 2 and 3 aren't terrible, if you liked the first one then they're worth seeing. 4 is a waste of time. I'd only recommend barrowing it from someone, don't pay money for it, its not worth it.

Everytime you watch one it just opens up more questions to be answered in the next movie!
