I'm watching them all again in an attempt to get caught back up for the next book, since i'm forgetful. UGH!! Now i remember that i fucking hate the movies! I can understand why alot of people have never given the books a chance. They saw the first couple of movies and assumed the books were equally as terrible. I can barely stand watching the 2nd one. It's actually taken me a couple days to watch it because i can only watch it in about 20 minutes intervals before i get bored and have to turn it off. -.- I'm not even looking forward to the 5th movie. It will suck. -.-

It's weird to hear you say that about the 2nd movie... that one's my favorite.

Thats only because Hermione is very young and you're a strange pedophile. Actually i can understand why some people would like it. It sticks to the storyline of the books very well, and it has the much cooler version of dumbledore. But as a movie itself...well, i was just bored with it. I didn't think the kids were very good actors at that stage. It seemed a little...rehearsed? It just didn't seem to flow as well as the 3rd and 4th movies, which i watched much more easily. After watching them in a row, i have to say that the movies are actually getting better and better as movies...but also we are missing more and more of the story lines. So, as a fan of the books i don't like them. But if i were the average movie-er who hasn't read the books I'd probably like the later ones alot better....if that makes any sense. I don't care much about the movies anyways...i just want book 7 to be here.

Actually, Hermione's a bit overrated. I'm a big Ginny Weasley fan, though. And the reason I like the 2nd movie is that it follows the books still, but isn't quite as slow-paced as the 1st one. The 3rd one sucked, because they introduced stuff from the books that they didn't even explain in the movie... I had people who hadn't read the books asking me if Sirius was a good guy or a bad guy, because they were still confused as convoluted as they made that sequence at the end of the movie. Not to mention the fact that if they went to the trouble of naming the makers of the Marauder's Map, they could at least have explained who they really were. And the 4th one... they omitted all of Hermione's best storylines, then made her look like a total bitch. They had Neville read all of Dobby's lines for some reason. They left out my favorite scene from the book (Hagrid slamming Karkaroff against the tree). And they added stuff to replace things that should have been in there... the dragon sequence took WAY too long.

Yea, thats what i figured. You like it better because it sticks to the storyline better, which i agree with. The problem is the fact that i read the first 4 books in 8th grade when i was like 12...and don't remember shit about the little details like that stuff. If i owned the books and could re-read them then watch the movies i'd probably say the same as you. =/ Ah well, the movies are shit, we can all agree on that

yep yep, I won't be able to watch that in the movie hahaha. ew. I can't handle stuff like that. I watched 2 seconds of ghost ship last night and it gave me nightmares! Not cool ROTFL......haven't seen a movie in ages that would give me nightmares......unless it was a new Mel Gibson movie Yeah......I can agree to it on some points the 1st and 2nd films followed the storyline the best and third one sucked all together, 4th.....dragon scene took too long and Hermione sucked and you did not see enough of Sirius

In the fifth one they didn't do enough with McGonagall... she had some really good exchanges with Umbridge in the book. Also, I was a bit disappointed by Luna's Patronus... I was expecting it to be something more, well, Luna (Crumple-Horned Snorkack, anyone?), but instead it was just a boring fucking rabbit. Evanna Lynch did an excellent job playing Luna, though.

They cut a TON out of 5. I guess it was the biggest book. But damn...

And the most movie-friendly scene, the Department of Mysteries battle, got completely fucked up... all the turning into smoke and teleporting that they did made it way too confusing.

Yea, I thought it looked real epic actually, despite the fact that it was hard to tell what was going on.

The LotR movies are WAY better than the HP ones in my opinion, though I can't speak for how the LotR movies compare to the books(yet.)
