It was either ANH or ESB. I liked ESB more than ANH in most aspects, simply because (as Devo said) they didn't need a major battle at the end to have it be a good movie.
ESB did, however, have the Jedi training scenes. As cool as Jedi are... their training isn't. Not only that, but ESB planted in my mind the following question: How did Luke become a Jedi so damn fast? There was a total elapsed time of 1 year inbetween the Battle of Hoth and the Battle of Endor. Now, gifted though he may be, Luke simply could not have become a Jedi in one year, as far as I know.
ANH overall featured a solid storyline, good characters, and it was also my introduction into the SW Universe, so naturally I had to go with that.

I wondered the same thing, it was on the other day there is a bit in the book as well "only 16 too young to learn the ways of the force" if 8 is too old then 16 is defo too old!!

Yeah, I wondered that as well. ROTJ was the start of the decline in quality we're seeing in the prequels, I think.

Agreed. But ROTJ did have Jabba, as well as the best space battle in the original trilogy.

Not to mention Leia's slave girl outfit.

Not to mention Leia's slave girl outfit. True, but it also had her with her hair down. I'd say that definitely cancels whatever good the dancer outfit did for the movie.

I liked her better with her hair down. And Enelya, I think you've just discovered a new screw-up for fans to pick on.

Maybe it was intentional... it's the kind of thing I'd do, just to be funny. ;D
