I usually want the superbowl winners of the previous year to lose every week, but I must say I don't mind seeing the Giants do well again. Maybe it's because they beat the Patriots in the superbowl, which made everything happy. ;D Falcons lost to the Eagles, but they are still at 4-3, a winning record that I never would have predicted at the beginning of the season. They are playing my sisters team, the Raiders, this weekend. Going to be fun considering how bad the Raiders are (as usual *cough*) Ohio State also lost this week, to Penn State. A respectable loss considering how crazy they are I suppose, though I feel we could have won if our freshman quarterback wasn't such an idiot sometimes.

The Falcons shut out the Raiders AT HOME. Yea, maybe the Raiders suck, but they got destroyed in their own town. It has given me lots of fodder to make fun of my sister with. =P And they are STILL 3rd in their division, which is pissing me off considering how well they are doing. Damn the Bucs and Panthers.

Oh, I forgot you were a Giants fan, PF. I bet you're happy after the Yankees letting you down during the baseball season that at least your football team's kicking some serious ass.
Bears won too... all three of our teams are awesome.

Indeed. Though you guys are having better luck with divisional opponents. *continues grumbling about the Panthers* Panthers need some losses, and their next 2 games are the Raiders and Lions so it looks like they'll be 8-2 when the Falcons play them. >_< Ah well, I'm just glad we won't be ending with a 4-12 record like last year.

Yeah, the Falcons needed some wins after last year... if it weren't for the Dolphins I imagine they would've been picked on a lot. Still, they play in a fucking dome, so it's kinda hard to feel sorry for 'em.

And to think I was actually going to come here this morning and commend the Bears on the defensive performance against their Titans. Now I have to put a negative spin on it. =P
They did do a great job though. I got to watch it, it was one of my 1:00 games (along with the Packers and Vikings.) I admit, I thought the Bears where going to get smashed, but damn. They destroyed the Titans' running game. To bad the Titans have a great passing game too. To bad the Bears couldn't stop the passing game though. *cough* =P
No amount of picking-on can amount to what my sisters team, the Raiders, receive every week. I don't know about ESPN, I don't watch it, but I know on the NFL Network they are always giving them crap. I just think it's funny that last year both our teams were 4-12. The Raiders, Falcons, and Chiefs all had that record, and had to flip a coin to see who would pick first. The Falcons won the flip(and yes, I did rub it in that my team beat her team, even on a coin flip ;D) and went first and now they are 6-3 while the Raiders are 2-7 and the Chiefs are 1-8. ;D

Eh, poor luck for the Falcons and Bears huh? I saw the highlights for the Falcons game. Very dissapointing. They were so close to winning it. 7-3 would sound so much better than 6-4 >_< Panthers are pulling too far ahead for playoffs to be considered any more. Unless they get majorly upset more than a couple times in the next 6 weeks. At 8-2 though, I doubt they'll lose more than 1 or 2, and I doubt the Falcons can win out to catch up. (They DO play eachother though, that could can either give me a whole bunch of hope or end the season for me) I got to say though, the 3-way 5-5 tie amongst the Bears, Vikings, and Packers is pretty funny. Considering how strong all those rivalries are and whanot. Edit: Oh yea, on the bright side the Raiders lost and are 2-8. What's funnier is they played against the Dolphins. Funnier still is that one of our favorite college players out of Ohio State (Ted Ginn) scored the first touchdown (a 40-yard run) AND made a catch on a 4th down to set up the game-winning field goal. I LOLed. ;D

I didn't get around to posting this when it first happened, so I might not sound as excited as I was then but....HOLY FREAKING CRAP THE FALCONS BEAT THE PANTHERS!!! The season is saved! Temporarily... I can't believe they did it. I thought the year was over, I thought the Falcons were done and I was going to have to start rooting for the Panthers and Bucs to make the NFC South look good...and then this!? And they didn't just scrape by the Panthers...they scored 45 POINTS!! They are still 3rd in their division, but they are only 1 game behind the leader again (now the Buccaneers. But the Bucs play the Panthers so one of them has to lose, and then the Falcons play Tampa Bay which could shoot them into first place. Worst case scenario, Tampa beats Carolina, then Atlanta loses to them as well and they are 2 games behind but still with a chance at the wildcard I'm looking at Tampa's schedule though. Their last 2 games are San Diego and Oakland, so they will have an easy time at the end. But they play the Falcons and Panthers away, so that gives me some hope that we can knock them off. The Panthers have Green Bay, Denver, and the Giants so they should hopefully get a loss or 2. The falcons really do have a chance to get into the play offs this year. ;D Unless they screw up against the Bucs or Vikings.

I'll be rooting for the Falcons against the Vikings, that's for damn sure. And congrats on the win over the Panthers, they're a hard team to beat this year.

Woot! Atlanta beat Tampa too!! And the Cowboys lost last night to the Ravens which helps Atlanta with the wildcard! Awesome! I recently got the most recent Madden game for my Playstation 3, and have been playing the Falcons games on it because the scoring is much more accurate. Before I'd win every game 60-0 or 78-3 or something crazy like that. Madden '09 is TOUGH because the game is constantly adjusting it's own difficulty with how well you are doing. So if you stop the run good, the run offense increases in difficulty and if you miss passes alot, it'll make your passing more accurate. Anyways, so now when I play the games I almost get an accurate score. I played the Tampa Bay game and won 10-3, and as it turned out the Falcons won 13-10, so there you go. So, what was my score against the Vikings? I lost 10-0. Got sacked 5 times and had purple jerseys in my face the ENTIRE game, and on defense I couldn't stop Adrian Peterson for shit. On the bright side, I actually get to watch the game this week. I get it as my 4:00 game. Edit: Funny how we are all kind of relying on eachother this week. Pinata needs the Falcons to beat the Vikings so they can tie up their division and it would really help me if the Giants could kill the Panthers.
