Can't login

Its Ape. The new "activation code" system really blows, so i can't log-in. I'm not getting anything in my e-mail, so if somone would kindly change my password to "The" or something like that it would be greatly appriciated.

And yes, i plan on changing my password when i get logged in, but i was logged in earlier and when i changed my profile it said it changed my password and i had to re-activate, so i'll probably get stuck again.

Or better yet, you could just change my email adress. change it to just change the "@aol.com" to "@hotmail.com" But i'm not sure if mods/admins can edit email-adresses. Do that if you can, but if you can't just change the password.

Gah, i guess changing my email won't help because apparenlty its already sent (even though it didn't) me a new pass. So just change it if you can. "the" work for me. -_-

I'm actually having the same problem Apey is! Ahhh well...Kinda. I can log in but the only screen i get to is "type in your activation code" so i dont have one and when i ask for one to be sent to my e-mail address, it never gets sent!!! *cries*

I'm in the process of trying to figure out how I can help you guys... just bear with me, since I myself have been having a problem logging into the proboards.com main forum center (where I would need to go in order to ask about this particular problem). If it doesn't get resolved soon, I'll just move the site to another server... I didn't like Proboards jerking me around with the activation code thing, either.

One thing I do know -- changing the password won't work, because you'll still need the activation code to get into the site when you try to login. The password and the activation code are two completely different things, so changing one won't affect the other. I'm trying to figure out how to get activation codes for other users, so I can email them manually, but I'm not even sure if that's possible.

Hmm....do the accounts in question have valid email adresses? Changing or re-entering the email addresses might help. It seems strange that only some people would get their activation codes and others never get the e-mail, which makes me think that it might have something to do with the e-mail accounts linked to the PPU accounts, not Proboards itself. Hmmmmmmm.

You might have a point there, Scythe. I had to change from an older email address to activate some of my accounts on other sites.

Actually, i re-typed my password several times and then told it to re-send the activation code, and still never got it.

Ok, so i think changing my email will work. Pinata (or anyone with admin powers), just change my email to [e-mail].
After you've done that, i should be able to click on the "i forgot my password" button. I'll have it send me my password, which will goto the hotmail adress (which works, unlike the aol adress) and then i can log-in with the password that it has given me. It SHOULD then ask me to type the activation key, and there SHOULD be a button that says "re-send me the activation code" like it did the first time. I will then have the activation code in the email that works. (i think this is an AOL problem, not a proboards problem. But i still hate how they think we're all terrorists)

Its a theory, but i'll still try it.

Oh, and before anyone asks. Yes, i've checked my Spam folder on AOL and the activation code wasn't filtered to it.

I just changed your email, Ape... it said it was sending the activation code to that address, so hopefully it already arrived and you can just login like normal now. If not, let me know and I'll see what else I can do. Remember, in the meantime, that for now you can post as a guest in every forum except Updates & Announcements and Staff Lounge, so if you have something you want to say urgently enough, you don't need to wait for your account to be activated (and I can always modify your post count to include your guest posts).
