On House of Lore we were speculating as to who the "Half-blood Prince" might be, since Rowling hinted it might be an existing character. So, who do you think it is, Ape?

Half blood prince...
I have no idea. I need to re-read all the books, they're all starting to get a bit fuzzy. I read them all in 1 school year about 3 years ago, then read the 5th book about a year ago (last summer) so meh. The movies don't have enough of the detailed history-like stuff so i can't just watch those.
Anywho, does anyone know if they meet this prince, or is it just like "whooly crap, this really old dead guy is important and such, lets sneak arround hogwarts at night and find clues"
Heh. ;D

I assume, from the hint that it's an existing character, that they meet him (or, more likely, have already met him and just don't know he's a prince). But I might be WAY off base. For all I know, "existing character" might mean something like Godric Gryffindor.

Hehehe, yea If its someone they meet/met, well, it'd be great and dandy if it was a close relative, or even one of the, Malfoys. With them constantly making fun of 'mudbloods' ;D But i'm not sure, it could also be that...one kid. *pauses and thinks for 10 minutes* Bah, i need to read the books again. The clumsy one...errrr, the semi-rich one that gets that remember-y orb in the first book. Yea, aren't his parents supposed to be pretty rich? Alright, i'm pulling out the 5th book and re-reading it soon. *head explodes*

Neville, you mean? Yeah, I think I've heard his name come up before. It does make sense, too -- they certainly tried to make his character a lot more important/heroic in OOTP. Justin Finch-Fletchley (the Hufflepuff boy who thought Harry sent the snake after him in COS) is another possibility.

I wish Neveille were the hero. I like him better than Harry.

The 5th book made harry look kinda shatty. But meh, the way he's 'clueless' about everything helps Rowling describe and explain everything though convos, rather than dialogue or whatever its called. *doesn't know what he's talking about*
Right, anywho, can't wait for the 6th book. *sits and waits*

don't hold your breath too much, apparently Rowling is pregnant again, which means delays, delays, delays.

Well, now I can be a member of this forum...I've read all 5 books ;D Hmmmm...Half Blood Prince...Who would that be? Both of Neville's parents were Aurors, so he isn't halfblood... I'd say Hermione, but she would be a princess....
