Anyone else think that Belgarath was a tad too harsh on Belzedar in Enchanter's End Game? I mean, it wasn't Belzedar's fault really that he was Torak's servant...Torak just overwhelmed him. Also, he was only acting in self-defense when he killed Durnik, and that had to happen for the Prophecy to be filled...Trapping him in a rock was a tad...harsh IMO.

For the sake of those that haven't read the books yet, maybe spoiler warnings would be...nice?
I think he got what he had coming. Granted, thats a cruel way to go, but he is a "Bel" - it's not like he was helpless!

Hahaha, sorry Meggy, but I first thought that pinata had finished the books... I know he wasn't defenseless, but did Belgarath really have to torture him like that...?

Agreed, I didn't think Belg would have been that cruel, but I'm sure he had his reasons. Oh...I remember now - wasn't there something about why he couldn't kill him, and he had to stay alive in that rock forever...something like that?

No, Belgarath could have killed him. He put him in the rock for eternity because he knows that he will never be able to get out.

I know he was able to kill him, but I think there was something upsetting some balance. Or maybe it was just guilt or hatred for stabbing Aldur in the back.

I'm positive it was just revenge for killing Durnik, it says something like that in the book.
