This is something most of you probably already saw on the Conclave, but it'll do until I can retrieve my even older stuff from EM.
A little bit of background -- this was written when someone told me to "get a life" because I was unmarried and unemployed. That inspired this poem. The moral of the story -- NEVAR piss off a writer. ;D
"Cubicle Bondage"
I watched the drones this morning as they went to do their work They tell me I should get a life They really act like jerks
They buzz around like busy bees working in their hive These mindless, soulless zombies leading empty little lives
They work, and work, and work some more and get nothing in return because we all know our Uncle Sam needs more money to burn
They punch the clock again and again Sometimes seven days a week And when their employers do them wrong they just turn the other cheek
They live their lives in bondage though they cannot see the chains The cubicle door is open but the walls all still remain
Yet they have the gall to judge me To tell me to get a life Well, that's not my idea of living -- I think I'll go find a knife.

It was on The Poetry Thread on the Conclave. It's never used anymore, since people decided to start a new thread for each poem they write.
