Religious Contradictions

Wrote this, and was going to touch it up with some more stuff...but never did. Made a thread here in one of the Roman history forums asking for more rituals, but i don't feel like studying anymore. Here's what i have, really needs some touching up. But i really can't write at all anymore.



Would you sacrifice a winter-coated creature
upon the ashen altar of Zeus?
Would you believe the ox-eyed queen's word?
and would you attend the festivals of Heraia?
Would you gash your shoulder in the annual play
mutilate yourself until the flesh of Osiris found?
Would you swing by your neck in the trees of uppsala
and send your soul to an infinite battle?

Would you believe that Odin created mankind
or that Mulungu is the Supreme Being,
the first man and women made from rocks by Tsui' Goab

Of course you wouldn't
Such silly concepts - the gods of the past,
yet people lived and died by their laws
We laugh in the face of Zeus, once a king of gods
We know such gods were created by mortal minds

Yet i have pondered so many times
Oh, how your logic is flawed
Just explain to me, what makes your god so different?

You know, you should really contribute something less... well, good... if you're going to go on and on about how you can't write. This was actually interesting. A slight departure from your usual style, but still easy to tell it's an Ape Killer.
