I'm wondering what the experience level of the site's members is with the various Mechwarrior computer/video games. How many, and which ones, have you played? As of right now, I've finished Mechwarrior 2 for Windows 95 and played (but didn't finish -- it had a fatal error ) Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries (the Titanium Edition version).

I've never played any of them, but i've seen the newest MechWarrior played on "Arena" quite a few times. It look VERY good...but i can't play it. Stupid computer I'm not sure which game it is though.

I beat Mechwarrior3 and Mechwarrior4. They were both great. The story was better in 4, but 3 was more realistic and military style, and the finite salveage capacity was a nice touch.
As far as mech preferences, the Daishi owns if you prefer laser weapons, but I like quadruple gauss rifles on a Mad Cat Mk II (or the equivalent). It produces less heat and they go on mechs that move faster.

I like Nova, but I use a custom version that takes away the medium pulse lasers for an ER large laser and replaces the ER small laser on the head with a small pulse laser (I LOVE the high fire rate -- I won't even pilot a 'Mech that doesn't have a small pulse laser).
I also like Hellbringer, but again I use a custom version (Jump Jets and all-laser weapons configuration).

I play Mech3, and I have a few desings that are... different. I mainly use a MadCat armed with all ERPPCs, a MadCat armed with all flamers, or, for when my friends and I play (we turn infinite ammo on), a Cauldron-Born with all machine-guns. kind of unusual, but still... I'll see if I can get around to posting the specs in the mechlab.

I look forward to that, those all sound pretty... unusual. BTW, it's good to have you back, Eldae.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is the proper forum for Mechassault discussion, SC... I haven't played it yet, though. Mad Cat seems to be a pretty popular 'Mech. I guess I should try it next time I play one of these games.
