Yea, I wanted to start a Harry Potter RPG, so join in or I'll eat your soul. This takes place during the same time as the book is set in - Voldemort has just come back etc.
Make up characters, or play existing ones, who cares?!

Bryan Szwarz, has just finished his 5th year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He sits on the hill near his house, which looks over the entire city of London. He fiddles around with his wands between his fingers, thinking about the last year at school. It had definately been an interesting one. He is in Gryffindor, the same house as his idol - Harry Potter.
Bryan did not idolize Harry just because he was famous, but because they had a lot in common. Bryan's parents were also killed when he was a young boy by Voldemort's supporters, however his parents had managed to hide him before the Death Eaters found them. He knew who it was who killed his parents, and the thought of that man's death had crossed his mind everyday for his entire life. Lucius Malfroy, who at the moment is at Akzaban, however without the Dementors guarding it, he will soon escape.
Bryan had been a member of Harry's famous Dark Arts group - Dumbledore's Army, and had eagerly learned from his idol. He only wished that he had gone with Harry and the rest of them to the Ministry of Magic, where they fought Voldemort and his Death Eaters.
Bryan sighed. He feels sorry for Harry, he has to live with that group of Muggles for the entire summer. Bryan was lucky enough to have an aunt and uncle who were both a witch and wizard to live with.
Feeling that it is time to head back home, Bryan gets to his feet and makes his way down the hill back towards his house. It was a warm evening, it had been nice all week. Pushing his brown hair away from his deep brown eyes, Bryan spots his house down the street. Placing his wand back in his robes he begins walking, glancing at the full moon in the sky. Bryan stops as he sees two shadows pass across the golden orb in the sky. Did he imagine that?
Must have been a plane, he thought to himself, as he begins walking again. Suddenly, the air around him became cold, the world around him completely silent. Bryan spins around quickly and comes face to face with two towering Dementors.
Dementors had always disturbed Bryan, when they were patrolling Hogwarts searching for Sirius Black, he had avoided them at all cost. Now he had to face them alone, in a Muggle neighbourhood.
"I can't do this here," he says to himself, "there are too many Muggles awake still." Bryan turns around and sprints with all of his energy back towards the hill he was just on, drawing his wand from his jean pocket as he does. He had never been able to fully cast a Patronus charm in the DA meetings, only cast a shadow of it.
Reaching the top of the hill, Bryan turns to face the Dementors. He quickly combs through his mind, searching for a memory powerful enough to cast a proper patronum. His first girlfriend? No...That wasn't good enough. His first day at Hogwarts? That wasn't a happy memory at all, the Sorting Hat made him soil his pants - which he has told nobody. He was running out of time, the Dementors were drawing nearer every passing second. Maybe this is the end...Maybe soon I'll go see my parents...That won't be so bad, he thought to himself. Suddenly, it came to him. Bryan points his wand at the Dementors, and tries to clear his head except for that one thought.
"EXPECTO PATRONUM!"
As soon as those words are spoken, a silvery blue eagle erupts from the tip of Bryan's wand, heading straight for the Dementors, who had stopped. The Dementors turned and fled from the approaching Eagle, vanishing into the vast darkness.
He had done it! He had casted a Patronus charm! The memory of the time he had spent with his parents had been enough to cast it successfully.
"Wait until I tell Harry!" He says outloud.
Then a thought occurs to him...If Voldemort had sent Dementors at him, they will surely do the same to Harry! Turning back towards house, he runs as fast as he can. I have to warn him...

Meanwhile, sixth year student Matt Liter sits at home preparing another scholarship application for his next year at Hogwarts. It had become a fairly simple exercise for him. After all, he had been doing it for six years now and hadn't been denied once. In his first year he had received the school's largest monetary award of all the applicants for the school, something he was likely going to duplicate each year of his education, until Hermione Granger entered the school the next year. Now he settled for second place more often than not.
He wasn't particularly bitter about it; she had done far more work than him to deserve it. It was just that he would have received quite a reputation by now if it weren't for the fact that Ms. Granger out-scored him, Mr. Potter out-classed him, and Mr. Weasley, well to be quite honest he felt badly for Ron Weasley, but that was another issue.
Still, Matt was one of the brighter lights in Ravenclaw, and his diligence, wit and potential was recognized by the teachers, even if it wasn't by most of his classmates. Oh, they knew he'd go far; he was just always on the peripheral of everything. In one more year he'd be all the way through Hogwarts and out into the world where if he didn't make newspaper headlines, he'd at least make a lot of money, which was fine by him.
Of course things all changed quite dramatically, and in the end quite delightfully, in his final year, and it started with a visit from a Dementor. His little brother had come into the room complaining about the cold and wanted to play a game, something Matt was always up for, but he decided that first he'd go check on the heating in his brothers room. Of course, his little brother was far more sensitive to the cold than he was, so he didn't notice anything, until he looked in the window, where he saw a Dementor.
Not wishing to cause a fuss, Matt quickly stopped by his parents' room and informed them that there was a Dementor outside the house, only to realize there were another two at their windows with one more joining the two, as if there were one for each of them. Upon waking, Matt's parents suggested that he get his little brother into the bedroom and that no one panic because the Dementors had no point of entry at this time. This of course wasn't news to Matt, who had alraedy figured this out from the passive nature of the Dementors, but he gladly accepted their advice to put them at ease.
By this time Matt's little brother had discovered that he too was being marked and was more than a little worried, so when Matt went off in search of him it was a short journey because his little brother was already looking for him. At this point it seems worth noting that Matt's family had zero experience with Dementors and while they knew the theory behind a patronus, they didn't have any particularly feelings of happiness to use, not because they weren't happy, just because it all seemed to blend.
It was quickly decided that they'd use Floo Powder and find somebody who did have experience with Dementors, but that list was rather limited. Eventually they decided on the house of a family friend, Bryan Szwarz, who was living with his aunt and uncle. They felt bad about imposing on them at this time of night, but they simply didn't have a choice.

Bryan quickly made up the distance between the hill and his house, and he burst through the front door, gasping for breath. When he looked around, he saw a strange site. Matthew Liter, a 6th year Ravenclaw from Hogwarts had just emerged from Bryan's fireplace. Bryan, too stunned to talk, caught the attention of Matthew, who smiled and approached him.
"What are you doing here?" Bryan asks, still out of breath from his run.
"Well...My family and I were paid a little visit by a group of Dementors tonight." Matthew replies.
"You too? I just fought off two of them no more than 5 minutes ago...Something is going on here, I don't like it." Bryan exclaims, his breath slowly returning to him.

*DA and Elfie (as well as Elfie's family) walk to the kitchen*
Matthew: I wonder if we're the only ones...
*just then another noise is heard in the fireplace*
Bryan: It certainly doesn't seem that way.
(OOC: Feel free to join in at this point.)

*Two adults and about a half-dozen children of varying ages emerge from the fireplace. The exact middle (third oldest, at twelve) child, who most people call Piñata because of his habit of getting hit by Bludgers, looks around curiously -- even though he's lived in the wizarding world all his life, it's his first time using Floo Powder. He wonders whose house he is in. He sees two older boys standing around talking, one of which he recognizes from Hogwarts -- Bryan Szwarz, his fellow Gryffindor, who he was in the DA with last year. His aunt and uncle know the Szwarz family, so he guesses it's probably Bryan's house he's in.*
(OOC: The other children are my cousins -- I haven't given them names yet. The last name of the family is Frost. And yes, this is a young, pre-Conclave version of Conclave Piñata.)

(This is SpasticChicken's post, she is having comp problems)
It was a beautiful summer afternoon somewhere in london. A young girl wearing blue jeans and a white dingy t-shirt laid out in the grass in front of a plain house in a muggle neighborhood. The girl wasn't an ordinary girl, her name was Ashley and she was a 4th year student at Hogwarts. Ashley laid on her back in the grass wishing for the summer to end, She hated summers. During the summer she had to leave Hogwarts where she can just be herself and live here...among muggles. Ashley got along with muggles just fine...for the most part anyways. Her step mom was a muggle and to this day Ashley has no idea what da saw in her. Ashley's mum died in childbitrh leaving her to be cared for by her dad. Her dad needed to hire a nanny and from there it was history. Her da could have had his pick of any witch he wanted, instead he had settled for a muggle. Her da called it love but Ashley saw it for what it was, settleing for less. "I guess it's true what they say, every place isn't burger king and you can't have it your way" Ashley sighs and begins to drift to sleep.
She slept for about ten mintues when she heard a noise in the bushes. Her first instinct was to grab her wand from her back pocket and raise it, which is what she did. When she looked down and saw what she had done, she snorted in disgust. She wasn't allowed to use magic outside of Hogwarts and if she did...she sighs. Well, she wasn't going to think of that. Ashley cautiously walks closer to the blooming bushes on the side of her house. She sees a wagging baby blue tail and smiles. She'd caught the culprit. Realizing she was in no danger Ashley lays back down. Ashley begins drifting in and out of sleep thinking about the year passed at Hogwarts and how slow the summer is going. Ashley finally feels at peace when her eight month old baby blue kitten jumps on her stomach. Ashley makes a gaging noise and struggles to sit up. She glares down at the adorable fur ball named Cotton.
"Did your shadow scare you again, girl?" Cotton makes a hissing noise and pulls out her claws. "Can't anyone take a joke these days?" Ashley mutters to herself. She notices that Cotton's vision is fixated just behind the house. Ashley feels a sensation up her spine and knows something's not right. The air around her begins to chill and she hopes with all her might that she's wrong. Two tall hooded figures come out from behind her house and her head starts to spin. She could hear the voices again and it was a sensation NO ONE got use to. She brandishes her wand in front of her while she mutters "expecto patronum." Nothing happens and she tries to think with all her might. She can see the figures getting closer and no happy thoughts can come to mind. She feels them closing in on her and helplessness washes over her. She tries with all her might to think of something...anything. Then it hits her. Her best friend and fellow Gryffindor flashes in her mind. With his wonderful smile, his witty humor and his beautiful eyes. Bryan Szwarz is just someone you can't and don't wanna forget. With his image placed firmly in her mind Ashley yells "EXPECTO PATRONUM" an enormous silver mare shoots out from the tip of her wand and made contact with the dementors. Ashley turns and runs trowards the house with Cotton close on her heels. She runs through the front door and locks it, knowing how stupid that action was she goes in search of her family. She figured if she had encountered two dementors three or four could be on the way. In the middle of her search the power goes out as it often did in her house. Her step mom was too cheap to send for a electrician and she wanted as little magic as possible in the house. Ashley mutters "lumos" and light spang from her wand. Her father or step mother were no where in sight so she decided to change her plan. She thought hard of anyone who would be of some help and once again Bryan came to mind. She thought about calling but that would take too much time so she ran to her room and grabbed her broom. She thought about flying right out her open window but that was a rule in her house...no flying out of windows. Her step mom swore that was an easy way for getting hurt...the fact that they're flying on broom sticks probably didn't cross her mind as a saftley hazzard. Ashley ran down the stairs and flew out the living room window. She guess what mother didn't know wouldn't hurt her. Souring above the clouds Ashley girned, she wondered what Bryan's reaction would be. always the level headed thinker, people always turned to him when probelms arise.

Bryan enters his living room, and sees a new group of arrivals emerge out of his fireplace. He recognizes the boy who is nicknamed piñata in the group, along with what Bryan assumes is his family. Bryan never knew piñata's real name, he seems to have some obsession with keeping it secret. "Well...Who wants tea?" Bryan asks, humour evident in his voice. "I'll take a cup," replies piñata's uncle, looking around the room. Bryan's aunt and uncle were over on the other side of the room, talking to Mr. Liter about something, Bryan could not hear what it was. Upon hearing Mr. Frost speak, Bryan's aunt runs off into the kitchen to make tea. "piñata," Bryan beckons, "Let me guess, Dementors?" "Yea...how did you know?" piñata replies. "We've all been having the same problem...Why did you all decide to come here? Oh well, as long as no one else shows up." Just as Bryan finishes his sentence, a large crash is heard from upstairs. Bryan, piñata, and Matthew all look at eachother, and exchange a knowing nod. They all withdraw their wands and proceed slowly up the stairs, hoping to find out the cause of the disturbance. Another crash is heard, coming from Bryan's room. The three boys stop outside the door, and Bryan counts to 3 on his fingers. When the 3rd finger is raised, the three burst into the room, wands held out infront of them. The room was completely dark, but Bryan notices a dark shape moving in the corner. Without thinking, Bryan shouts " Stupefy!" A red stream of light fires out from the tip of Bryan's wand, and hits the dark shape square in the chest. The figure lets out a gasp of shock and falls to the ground. piñata and Elfie both look stunned by what happened, but piñata mutters Lumos, lighting up the room. Instead of seeing a Death Eater on the ground, Bryan sees Ashley, a fellow Gryffindor from Hogwart's slumped on the ground, her broomstick laying beside her. Bryan puts his wand away and rushes to the girl's side, cursing himself for acting so recklessly. Bryan had always liked Ashley, they had both gotten along really well, and had become very close friends. Although, secretly Bryan liked her in a different way, but dared not speak of it to anybody, fearing of rejection. Propping her up against the wall, Bryan looks over at Matthew and piñata, who both have a look of bewilderment on their face. "I'm betting my broomstick that she had an encounter with Dementors too. Matthew, go to my room and get my owl Felix, we have to send a letter to Harry," Bryan finally says. Matthew nods, and leaves the room. Bryan's attention is brought back to Ashley as she stirs, and makes a groan. "What...happened?" She asks, looking around the room. "Er...I kind of overreacted a little, sorry...Are you alright?" Bryan replies. "Yea...I'll be fine... piñata! What are you doing here?" She exclaims, looking over at the boy across the room. "We've all had a little run in with Dementors..." piñata replies, looking at Ashley. "You too?! I just fought a few of them off myself! This is weird." Ashley mutters. "Tell me about it...I'm going to send a letter to Harry, he has to know about this." Bryan says, getting to his feet, and helping Ashley up. "Come on downstairs, my aunt is making tea," Bryan says to Ashley, a smile on his face. EBP: Fixed for continuity... although these are my character's family members, my father is not present (if he were, Aurors would've arrived with him... he's on the run : .

OOC: Bravo *claps* thanks bunches for posting mine! And i liked yours And if anyone notices i don't make other ppl say stuff in my Rps unless i have their permission...so yeh don't complain about lack of talking from other people!! Ashley walks slowly along side Bryan and thinks about what's just happened. "Wow" she says a little shaky "what a night it's been." Ashley hadn't noticed that she'd spoken out loud until she felt a light squeeze on her fingers. Bryan had taken here hand for just a brief moment and the thought made her a little dizzy. They contuine walking side by side not looking at eachother. When they get downstairs Ashley was amazed at how many people were there. She felt as if she was imposing and although it pained her to think about it..."Hey, i can stay somewhere else if you like. I'm sure you have too many people over as it is." Instead of answering her, Bryan pushes her towards his aunt who was serving tea. She was was a sweet ol' thing but semi old people gave Ashley the creeps, it was nothing personal it was just..."Where's Cotton?" Ashley had totally forgotton about her ball of fur. She'd found Cotton at Diagon Ally, while picking up a school book. Ashley stoped instantly upon noticing the hungry lost kitten. Ashley always had a sweet spot for fury things and this needy animal was no different. After taking Cotton home for a much needed bath She realized it was an odd shade of blue. It was highly unsual for a cat to be blue so she had to promise her step mom not to let the neighbors see it. After the bath she had taken Cotton into her nicly ordered bedroom...oh please, if she couldn't use magic to clean her bedroom it never got cleaned. Cotton was left on the bed to fend for herself while Ashley looked for somewhere to let her sleep. Cotton took in upon herself to crawl into one of Ashleys cotton sweaters and fall asleep. Ashley never liked those monthly sweaters her grandma sent her so she was happy to get some kind of use out of it. While watching her new pet sleep Ashley named it Cotton,it just seemed like the right thing to do. Ashleys dad often said it was fate how They met. He says Cotton is a special magical creature, she highly doubted it but she loved Cotton anyways. After all of her musing Ashley begins searching for Cotton. She didn't have to search far. A group of kids were playing with her in a corner, all seemed well...

Pinata watched as his cousins played with a blue cat that had seemingly appeared out of nowhere.
"It must belong to one of the others," he mused. Ordinarily he would join in the fun, but he didn't feel much like playing right now. The dementors had really freaked him out, and now he was in Bryan's house... and he wasn't quite sure what he should think about that.

As the others make themselves comfortable inside, a shouted incantation can be heard outside. A bright flash lights up the front of the house, and an immense, glowing white predatory feline chases back the shadows in the immediate area, then dissolves into the night air. Then comes a knock on the door. Bryan opens the door cautiously, Matt right behind him, wands at the ready.
"Don't worry, I mean you no harm." The man at the door matches actions to words by putting his hands, empty, where the boys can see them. The people in the house take a look at this strange man. He's dressed in a crazy hawaiian camp shirt and somewhat baggy blue jeans underneath a black trench coat. beneath a black cowboy hat, his ruddy brown hair falls across his face.
"Oh, it's ok, it's just Lash Taylor, our new neighbor." says Bryan. "Come on in!"
Lash had moved into the area only a month before. He claimed to specialize in defensive magic. Owls bring mail and packages to and from his house very frequently, and he often leaves his house at odd hours of the day on unknown errands. When he is there, he loves telling jokes and always has something tasty cooking for sheduled or unexpected guests alike, which are also frequent.
"I hope I'm not intruding. These dementors aren't much fun to have around, and I figured it would be best if we all stuck together..." says Lash.
"Not a problem. What's going on, anyway?"
"I'm...not sure. I'd assume it's old Moldywart's doing though."
"Don't joke! This is serious!" someone says.
"Hey, we gotta keep things from getting too gloomy! We don't want to encourage those floating soiled loincloths outside." Scythe replies with a grin. "What do all of you think we should do now?"

"Come on in Lash," Bryan tells the man at the door, "we were just about to begin discussing what our plan of action is going to be."
"Why thank you, and if it wouldn't be too much trouble, could I get a cup of tea?" Lash grins, entering the room, placing his hat on the coat hanger near the door.
"Ok, now that everybody is here..." Bryan pauses, making sure no one else decides to come in, "what are we going to do?"
"Well, if he sent dementors after us, we can be sure that he did the same to Harry," Matthew comments.
"Well what are we waiting for?! Let's go rescue him!" Ashley says, running to the door. Before she gets there, Bryan grabs her by the shoulder, and their gazes lock.
"We just can't go running out there without some kind of plan. There's no telling what Voldemort --" Bryan stops as the majority of the people in the room twitch or gasp at that name, "-- will have sent against Harry. I'm worried about him too, but it will do no good if we get ourselves killed trying to rescue him."
"I guess your right," Ashley says, sinking back down into her chair.
Bryan turns back to face the group, all eyes on him. "Ok, we need a plan to go help Harry, any suggestions?"
"Well, we could just...walk there. It isn't too far away from here," pinata says.
"That would probably work actually," Matthew says, "If we all go together we'll be alright."
"Ok, it's the best plan we got, so who is coming?" Bryan asks.
Bryan, Ashley, pinata, Matthew and Scythe all put up their hands.
"Just the 5 of us...Alright, it will do, let's get going then, we leave in 10 minutes," Bryan says, turning around to head to his room.

Bryan heads up the stairs with a weary look on his face. Alexis raises from the chair that she didn't even know she was sitting in. She looks around her to see if anyone noticed her. When it looked like they didn't she turned and follow him up the stairs. Senseing something was not right Cotton follows Ashley up the stairs. She knocked at the door and opened it without recieving consent. Bryan was sitting on his bed with his head held in his hands. Without looking up he knew who it was. Ashley goes over and sits next to him on the bed. "you're a great leader Bry. Not many people could do what you're doing here. Don't worry about it. We'll get him. In the fight good vs. evil, good ALWAYS win...right? Ashleys looked a little uncertain even as she smiled down at Bryan. A sudden clash is heard from the window and a flying parchment bounches on the floor. They ran over and hover over it not sure wheather to grab it or not. Cotton runs in and pounches on it. It opens up revealing sationary with the signature HP. "Bryan! It's from Harry!" The read the note together and try to decipher what it meant. After a couple seconds they look at eachother and run down the stairs to inform the others...
