Galuwen, you sound a little desperate here. (You also sound a little spammy, but I'm willing to forgive that because I like you, I like your site, and I forgot to add your site to the links list.) Anyway, desperate isn't a good thing. It tends to make people wonder what's wrong with your site that made it die. I never thought I'd be telling someone to try a little subtlety, but in this particular instance it works. Try working links to your site into posts (which piques people's interest) instead of starting new threads (which clutters up the site and pisses people off). Also, banners are overrated -- text links don't take as long to load, and therefore you don't run as much risk of turning off potential members who, like myself, have slow connections (not only that, but -- I hate to say it, but it's true -- not everyone is smart enough to realize that banners are clickable links sometimes). Remember, before you get offended by any of the stuff I just told you -- I'm only offering friendly advice here. If I come off as a jerk, tell me so I can try and rephrase things. These sorts of things have worked to get me new members in the past, so I'm just trying to help you make your site more active by sharing some of my most successful advertising techniques. Hopefully they'll work for you, because your site is definitely worth visiting.

Ooo... Pinny has a link in his sig!
>_>
Sorry... I would join, but I'm an active member of three forums now... that's kind of a lot to keep up with + school + work + social life... Pinny doesn't have to worry about school or work, so he can handle it. ;D

I guess it does sound bad uh. It's just I know my site would be better with more members. I have a lot of boards and only a handful of posting members. Am sorry. Forgive me?

You're already forgiven. I just wanted to help make sure you were advertising in the most effective possible way, because I want your site to get new members and be more successful as well. The Person Above You game in the Trivia, Games and Contests forum is a good way to advertise unobtrusively... if I just posted in that game, you can come in and say "TPAM is a member of my site". Or, if devo2 or someone else who likes vampire-type stuff just posted there, you can say "TPAM would really like my site" (with the link, which I'm too lazy to type again). I do that on other sites to advertise PPU all the time.
