@eldae: Ah, yes, those books are amazing. I cried the first time I read the end of the fifth one. I guess it just goes to show that great writers can fit big messages in small places. Cue innuendo. Also, I like the new sig. Is that based on a real D&D scenario you've encountered?

I'm going to have to look into alot of the stuff on this thread I suppose. I havn't read a whole lot yet, but my favorite book out of the small amount that I've read so far is Armageddon's Children by Terry Brooks. I would like to check out his older more traditional fantasy books, since it seems most of his fans like those more, but you know how my library is...

Haven't read Armageddon's Children, but it sounds interesting. I'm currently reading one of his, The Sword of Shannara (I believe it was his first book, but I'm not sure and am too lazy to look it up). It has its moments, but it's no Belgariad.
Best fantasy books I've read (finished) so far:
The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien Queen of Sorcery (The Belgariad book 2) by David Eddings Stone of Tears (The Sword of Truth book 2) by Terry Goodkind The Wastelands (The Dark Tower book 3) by Stephen King Faith of the Fallen (The Sword of Truth book 6) by Terry Goodkind Castle of Wizardry (The Belgariad book 4) by David Eddings The Two Towers (The Lord of the Rings book 2) by J.R.R. Tolkien The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (Chronicles of Narnia book 5) by C.S. Lewis Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Harry Potter book 4) by J.K. Rowling The Return of the King (The Lord of the Rings book 3) by J.R.R. Tolkien
That's my current top 10, updated with books I've read since my last post in this thread.

What the hell is that? Armagedon children? Sounds like the children from hell if you ask me.

Haha, nah, its about a group of children living in a post-apocalyptic America. They don't allow adults into their group of survivors because they blame the adults for what happened to the world. Its an awesome book, and it makes me angry that I can't find the 2nd book(its the first book of a triology)

I think I could make a top 5 list, though this won't be in exact order...exactly. Armageddon's Children (The Genesis of Shannarah book 1) by Terry Brooks Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (Harry Potter book 6) by J.K. Rowling The Novice (Black Magician book 2) by Trudi Canavan Cell by Stephen King The Stone War by Madeleine E. Robins Notables are The Hobbit, Odyssey, and various books in the series' already mentioned (Goblet of Fire/Deathly Hallows, The Elves of Cintra, and both other books in the Black Magician trilogy.) I need to read more though.

Can Cell really be considered fantasy? It's both sci-fi and horror, but I'm not too sure about fantasy.
