Am I the only one that hates friendly ghosts? Those movies that start out as a haunting and then turn out to be friendly ghosts that are trying to warn the main characters of something. So lame.

I'm kind of in agreement with you, though some of those types of movies are good (The Sixth Sense, though it's the reverse of what you're talking about with the friendly human trying to help the ghosts, comes to mind). Anyway, I see what you're driving at and agree in principle, and I also think that those "friendly ghost" movies should be labeled as fantasy rather than horror, as there's really nothing scary about a friendly ghost.

Indeed. I liked The Sixth Sense too. Friendly ghosts have ruined alot of potential good movies for me. The movies are always scary up until the point where the ghosts goes all happy, and then the entire time afterwards i'm bored because the main character isn't in danger any more. I'd list such movies, but I don't want to spoil anything for anyone.

Haha, essentially. You know when the people first see Casper and their like "ZOMG A GHOST EEEEK!" and then Casper is like "ZOMG I'M ALL FRIENDLY AND WHATNOT!" Just put that in a horror movie, and you get the idea.
