Sean, are there any Canadian Movie Galleries? And if so, do you have one near you? The reason i ask is because they sell pre-rented DVDs for extremely cheap. I don't know how much it would be up there, but here they sell them 3 for $25. ...the average DVD costs approximately $20-25...so yea, w00t. And to get back on topic, Nintendo has announced that they will in fact have online play. This is the first time Nintendo has had online play...since the gamecube sucked and all. So really its not that much of an extra because all the other consoles have had this feature already. What makes it a plus is that they plan to make it absolutely FREE. At first i thought it was a plus. Then i thought, what games are you going to play? Mario party 42? Mario Tether Ball? Co-op Mario Pinball? The only game i can think of that would actually be fun to play are the Super Smash Bros. games...but by the time they make the 19th re-make of it i'm sure it will get boring after awhile. I didn't know they sold DVD's. I'll have to check that out. Gamecube>You! So there's gonna be free online play! Sweet. I know you've never played Mario Party in 4 player mode because I did it with my cousins once and it was fucking fun!

The local Movie Gallery stopped selling DVDs recently, dunno why. =(
And i've played Mario Party with 2 other people (not 3 though.) It was fun, but the only problem with it is it gets old after awhile. I mean you can play it for awhile...but if you played it ever day for a week you'd get tired of doing the same things over and over again. Its fun every once in awhile but not daily, like first person shooters are.
I will now officially vote for the PS3. The price of games has been announced, 59.99. This is GREAT. I couldn't give a shit about the $600 price tag. I can pay $400 for the Xbox 360...or pay an extra 200 for a machine that is better in almost every way imaginable. Not sure why anyone would buy a 360 really.
I may have may have mentioned this before, but if you are going to play online then its actually cheaper to play with the PS3. $50 per year for Xbox live, in 4 years you will have payed $600 that the PS3 owners payed but you'll have inferior frame rates, graphics, game selection, etc. PS3 > all.

What's the new Nintendo controller doing in the 'cons' column? It's gonna be so fun!
Also, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Enough said.
*votes Wii*

I guess its more of a matter of opinion, but i think the "Wii-Mote" is going to be the consoles over-all ultimate downfall. But people are really stupid. They look at it and are like "OMG THAT L00KZ S00 C00L" I agree...it does look fun, but look at it in a long-term sense. You can't DO anything with that kind of remote. I keep comparing it to the Eye-Toy. The game is very 'innovative' and fun for awhile...but if Sony based an ENTIRE console on that thing it'd fail.
However, i have succumbed to admitting Nintendo's marketing genius. They are going to sell TONS of consoles for this...innovativeness. Nintendo has brainwashed so many of the 'old-sk00l' 'playz0rz' that they can shit in a box and slap a Mario sticker on it and people will buy it.
And really...just look at the games they have. I'll give ya legend of Zelda, Mario Kart, and Super Mario Smash Brothers (is this game going to be capable with the Wii-Mote?) But thats all they really have. Sony has God of War, Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo and Metal Gear Solid. Xbox has Halo, and the 2 of them have Grand Theft Auto, Unreal Tournament, and all the FPS games that won't be capable on the Wii...so if your going for games the Wii loses. Graphics? The Wii loses. Game play? The Wii will have all the cool games at first, but after a year or so people will get bored and hate it. See the Nintendo DS (OMGWTF IT HAS 2 SC33NZ??? H0W INN0VATIVEZ!!!)
I hate Nintendo.

I'm going to have to disagree on many of those points. If you want 'shit-in-a-box-and-sell' type games, well, lets just say they're running out of urban centers to make GTA games out of. In my opinion, the wii-mote is going to make FPS games awesome, what with being able to really aim it and all. FF's developers are producing more and more for Nintendo these days. The DS sucked, yes, but you're comparing monkeys and forklifts there.
The bite of your argument about games is entirely in your wording and is in no way based on any valid argument other than personal preference for certain games. I could reword the entire thing without changing any contents to make it a pro-nintendo 'argument' like so: Sure, I'll give X-box Halo, and SONY has a few games going for it too, like UT and Gran Turismo, but they are going nowhere, except a few more pixels per inch maybe, and Nintendo has Zelda, Mario Kart, Smash, etc. See? Same content, different spin.
A lot of their games come out for PC anyway (Halo, UT, FF, pretty much everything you mentioned), and I happen to own a nice PC already, so I probably won't be purchasing the systems at least for that reason. And of course the Wii-mote won't do well as the only controller, which is why we see 'the nunchuck' and 'the zapper' and other such attacheable secondary accessories coming out at low-ish prices.
Here's my for-fairness bit. The onboard hard-drive thing is a great feature of the 360 and such, I'll have to admit; Nintendo trades that off for smaller size and being able to market another accessory, the latter of which is not very nice of them. I like the idea of being able to fit the console in a large pocket though. I'm also skeptical about the online thing, but I guess the name Wii is supposed to partly refer to 'we' as in a community, so I think it's going to be a major aspect of the console's role as an appliance, and I don't have any idea what ort of games will be online-compatible. Though there is a general towards-nintendo shift amidst the developers of FF, it may take a while till they're all the way across, so until then some good ones might come out for the other systems that I would regret missing.
I'm going to give them all a fair shot rather than being all 'well, I hate this company or the other,' but I honestly just can't get pumped about SONY or Microsoft's products right now.

Did you hear about the guy who got shot over a PS3? I know Playstation's known for their "First Person Shooters" but that's ridiculous!

I heard about that. Fucking idiots are going to get the government revved up about censoring video games again.

Actually, we might get lucky on this one. I think how it happened was, the person who did the shooting didn't actually WANT a console. There was a group of people waiting outside in a line late at night, and someone came up to rob them. One guy wouldn't give up his PS3 money, so he got shot. Essentially he got shot over the PS3, but it wasn't because the shooter wanted the PS3 really bad. So yea, w00t for us. Oh, and guess what! The PS3 has only been out a month or so, and already the graphics are starting to look up. By summer the 360 is going to look like shit compared to the PS3. Yay! I'm still undecided though.
