Shia Lebouf is another one of those actors, like Will Smith, who catch alot of undeserved flak just because of their origin. (in Lebouf's case, the Disney channel...) I havn't seen Eagle Eye, but I've seen Transformers and Disturbia. Say what you want about the movies themselves(Like how Transformers has that very close-up-action stuff Pinata was talking about and how Disturbia is a thriller, meaning it is only good to see once and then you know what's going to happen and never need to see it again), but his acting in both of those were fairly good. Saw V has been made and will be/is in theatres soon/now. I have absolutely no expectations for it. The first Saw was great, the 2nd was ok, the 3rd was a stretch, and 4 was the biggest piece of crap I've ever seen. It's inevitable that someone in my household will buy it, so I'll see it, but I'm not looking forward to it this time around.

I didn't think the 2nd one was terrible, it had some redeeming qualities and the end caught me by surprise. It just wasn't good. 5 is going to suck, but I'll see it anyways.

Dude, they are in the process of looking for the cast for Saw VI.......they are drawing it out way too much. Its like Friday the 13th. It's the same story line over and over again.

I saw about 15 minutes of that show. It was the most pathetic thing I've ever seen.
What's more pathetic is the only reason I watched that much of it is because the challenge for the actors was for the women to get in a bath tub and scream at a snake.... *loser*

It's based on a book series that's extremely popular with teenage girls. I've not read them, as I prefer my fantasy books a bit more on the sexually explicit side and therefore tend to give kid-lit a lower priority.

=P I'm sure the books are TERRIBLE. It's just a fashion trend that teenage girls buy into so they're friends will think they are cooler. My sister says they actually sell the books at Hot Topic... That made me LOL.

Role Models **** I very strongly recommend this movie. Sure, there's a slight amount of nudity and the language is pretty rough, but unless you're one of those people who's offended enough by that sort of thing that you and me would both be better off if you shut the fuck up and went to live with the Amish, you'll enjoy it.
Also, the way in which it portrays LARPers is just awesome. It's almost as much a fantasy epic as a comedy. I never thought I'd say this, but I actually want to do a LARP now.
*LARP = Live-Action Role Play. They're the people who get really into it and wear costumes/have actual sword battles.

Never done role play, but there is a new movie that looks funny, Bedtime stories with Addam Sandler.....now that looks funny.
BTW, the Twilight series are a New York Times Best Seller

Yes, they are. Bigtime.
And I agree, Bedtime Stories does look funny. That line from the trailer, "And then it started raining gumballs," cracks me up every time.
Bolt looks funny too, though I've not had the opportunity to see it yet.

Just because something is a best seller doesn't mean it's good though. Look at all the crappy emo bands with best-selling albums... It just means it's popular. If a bunch of teenage girls went out and bought some "97 ways to please your man with your belly button" it could make a best-selling list...no matter how ridiculous the book is. o.0 0.o And doesn't just about every book that's ever written make the new york times best selling list? It seems like every book I read mentions it on the cover, or it's some sort of award-winning masterpiece or something like that.

Yes, most books do have something about how awesome they are on the front cover, or a long list of awards they've won in the jacket description. I was actually thinking of writing the jacket description for the book I'm writing myself so I could state that it won an Oscar, an Emmy and a Country Music Award.
As for the "It's popular, now it sucks" argument you made in the first half of your post... I can see where you're coming from, but slamming something just because teenage girls like it is pretty narrow-minded. I wasn't all that enamored with the idea of emo at first either, but then I actually listened to some and it's actually quite good (at least what I've heard). I'm sure Twilight, though it appears to be more romance than horror/fantasy (which makes it less to my personal taste) is better than we're giving it credit for too, at least the book version (I hear the movie's not very good).
