Maybe she wrote the last chapter first, though... that's what I've done with my book. I knew how I wanted it to end, so I wrote that hoping it would give me ideas for how to start the damned thing. It didn't. |

She did write it first, well - not first first.
I think she wrote the last chapter of Book 7 while she was writing OotP - she realised how popular it was getting and, as morbid as this is, decided to write the last chapter so that if something happened to her, someone could at least write it to the ending she wanted.

I did that too with one of my stories the last chapter is done and so are all the chapter titles and summeries, I'm about 5/6 chapters in.
JK did the right thing writing her ending now. It would hve killed fans to never know how it all ended!

Perhaps if his dying words were "I'm sorry - I love you Lady Enelya"? Now thats an ending i can see working! Then he just closes his eyes and passes peacefully! |
