Something like that is gonna happen, there is more to this than we know, Dumbledore was so assured of snapes alligance and Harry has been wrong about him sooo many times, that there is def more to this.

Snape is going to live. He's definitely the object of a gambit, with Dumbledore's life being the sacrifice. He'll turn against Voldy at the last possible second... just you watch... and he's gonna live through it, too.

I don;t know I reckon it could be a double bluff! like snape and dumbledore set up the death bit!
Snape took that oath he couldn't get around it! I reckon he and dumbledore were prepared for that eventuality!

I think you're all right that it was planned, Dumbledore probbaly trusted Snape all teh way to the end.
But I think Snape has no intention of turning against Voldemort unless he's 100% certain Voldemort's done for.

Rember in the 1st book, how whenever Voldemort was around and Harry's scar hurt, happened with him and Snape. Shouldn't Harry have told Dumbledore then?

no it was pre book 1!
Hagrid said Quirrel was never the same since he came back from a trip to (INSERT PLACE HERE), and Dumbeldore says at the end fo the book, as well.

Yeah, that's right. I forgot about that.
So... who else thinks Snape killed Karkaroff? They said he was "nastily" murdered, which if you ask me probably means Sectumsempra.
